I've been reading several links about HAARP and the earthquake in Haiti and one of them dismissed these claims as conspiracy theories created by the right-wing or people with fundamentalist religious beliefs for whatever reasons.
But even my Mom was asking herself why the Dominican Republic was not affected by the earthquake and yet it shares the same island of Hispanola with Haiti.
